This "story" is meant to be read as one of those cheesy 70s style roller coaster ads:

After hours of trekking through the dense tropical jungle, you see it ahead. A huge, ancient ziggurat with an enormous golden statue glinting at the top! You're nearly there! Excitedly, you barrel onward and reach the top of the temple only to realize that the only thing awaiting you is... DEATH. Suspended at almost sixty feet facing the ground, you face your impending doom - plummeting at nearly 40 miles per hour to a pit filled with countless skeletal remains from centuries of human sacrifice. This is... THE BONE PIT. (coming soon to an amusement park near you)
