Robert Thorn's warning to the people about Soylent Green went unheeded; people propagandized to believe that he was nothing more than a crackpot. In the intervening time, William Simonson and the Soylent Corporation came to realize that the demand for Soylent Green was enormous - much greater than what they could've even dreamed it would be. Unfortunately, this meant that the previous methods for gathering materials for Soylent Green were no longer enough. They needed more bodies, and it is often said that happy meat that dies clueless to its own impending doom makes for the tastiest food...
