On July 16, 1969, NASA prepared to launch its Apollo 11 mission to send three astronauts to the moon. Unbeknownst to the public, the American space agency’s Saturn V rocket was a decoy, built to fool the rival Russians into thinking they were using the same technology. However, to every citizen’s surprise, a tiny self-propelled vehicle burst from the umbilical tower, sending several astronauts to the moon in a matter of seconds.
