Welcome to New York City 2,263 AD. Sea levels have dropped and mankind has continued to build upwards as well as downwards, but it's fine because where we're going, we don't need roads! Flying taxis, divine beings and Bruce-frickin-Willis… yep, it's the 5th Element.

Future New York City was one of the biggest model cities ever created for film taking 80 workers 5 months to complete (a little longer than it took me to build). No stock buildings were available as the 1998 Godzilla was already in production and using them all! Many of the buildings from 5th Element were sold to Godzilla to be destroyed and used as ruins afterwards.

The number 5 also appears in many scenes throughout the film… a bomb stopped with 5 seconds on the clock, 5 points on Korben's licence, Ruby Rhod's show starting at 5pm to name a few.
