Story starts at bottom of the plot, and progresses upwards...

Nobody knew exactly how it all started.. Two kingdoms that were at peace with each other for a long time suddenly found themselves at odds with each other. The two kings both quickly gathered an army and faced each other on the battlefield.

The battle started as a skirmish, with mostly the knights and the pawnsfolk making moves at each other, but as time progressed, the battle got uglier and uglier, with even the local bishops and the king's wives joining in battle.

Many lives were lost, including both queens, causing a lot of grief.. The battlefield started crumbling below the feet of all combatants, and the future of the once fertile lands became unsure.

Eventually, the black king found himself backed into a corner, unable to escape... The white king gave the final command, and with one fell swoop, he became the victor, as the last pieces of the battlefield crumbled below him... The remaining pieces of his army, struck by grief, fled the lands looking for a better future. The white king became the victor, but at what cost? Was it all worth it in the end?? War is an ugly thing. It does not determine who is right, only who is left...

Anyway, let's do a rematch!
