Please enjoy my reinvention of Canary Mines from the Corkscrew Follies expansion of Roller Coaster Tycoon 1. The original scenario features a simple train ride and a bizarre dueling dive coaster called ZYGORATOR. ZYGORATOR has been reborn as HAUNTED ZYGON, a dueling moebius dive coaster with a compact layout that harks to the strange swoopy stlye of the original in a more exhilirating and realistic fashion. Hopefully you appreciate that the station layout is just as weird as the original too! The dueling feature is not synchronized - I like how the trains fall in and out of phase and I hope you do too. If a particularly fat or tired guest borks up the quasi-sync just reload - sorry!

My major goal with this project was to create an original mine that avoids the common tropes of brown RCT mines. I really don't know what to think, but I sure as hell learned a lot in the process. Luckily, that's the entire point of the process - get dirty! Newspaper time:

While the antiquated practice of sentinel species is becoming more rare, the "canary in the coal mine" is a sacrifice of one to inform the rest. Infamous amusement developer Manic Mechanics has raised concerns that their latest attraction is a pilot test far too expensive to succeed. When DOGS TOWN sold historical Canary Mines to the 'Mechanics, a 20 year plan was laid for the construciton of several amusement rides to foster attraction to the site. What resulted was HAUNTED ZYGON, an unexpected and terrifying "dive" coaster that races riders through the depths of the quarry. While Manic Mencahnics has not released costs publicly, it is widely speculated that the new ride is several times more expensive than the entire 20-year drafted budget. 'We took a loan,' a Manic Menchanics representative stated in a release. 'We don't do junior coasters.'

The "bill" is still out on wether HAUNTED ZYGON will promote more tourism to Canary Mines, or scare people away. 'They'll have to come - we set their spawn point.'
