During the height of the California gold rush Settlers moved west in search of fame and fortune. But it was here in these waters of California that gold was first found by John Sutter in 1848. Mr Sutter first started to pan for gold here to start the gold craze that would sweep the nation. He would pan here for many months until to many settlers came looking to strike it big on this plot of land. Looking to get away from the over crowded shores of his gold rich creek, Mr Sutter moved to Mormon island to try gold hunting there but after a few weeks the area was again over populated by gold hungry prospectors. Reluctantly Mr. Sutter moves back to his plot on the creek and started gold quartz mining in the hill behind his cabin. His mine was the most successful in all of California and would remain that way till it closed as America entered WWII. After the war the mine tried to reopen but didn’t have nearly the success as the first time round. Finally in 1951 the mine close for the last time. Years have passed since anyone has visited that mine and it has fallen into disrepair and would in anyone’s mind be condemned as a hazard. But as luck would have it the land was bought by a crazy entrepreneur who saw a beautiful river flowing down the country side. “I know what I must do!” Cried out this young man and he started building fervently. In no time he had built himself a river rapid expedition that wound its way down Sutter’s Creek. And in March year one he is opening his business to a select few to get feedback as to how well his new business will do.
