Velkommen i Tivoli!

Rutschebanen is the oldest operating roller coaster in Europe, and it’s located right in the heart of Copenhagen. Built in 1914, it has survived two world wars and seen more generations than most of us. As one of only seven remaining coasters in the world, this ride features an onboard brakeman to control the pacing of the ride.

I happen to be one of those brakemen, and I therefore welcome you to my world. Meet a lot of my colleagues and have a ride on the extraordinary piece of roller coaster history. On a daily basis, this coaster can haul between 5.000 and 10.000 guests through, and every brakeman rides this ride between 80 and 120 times a day. People often ask me if it never gets boring, and I must say, no, it never does. I love what I do, and I’m proud to be a part of a fantastic crew that runs Tivolis with no doubt most popular attraction.
