This coastal amusement park was founded within the site of a depleted limestone quarry in the late 19th century, and is now home to a densely packed assortment of essential attractions. Visitors can enter for free and then purchase access to an exhilarating parachute jump tower, a gut-busting funhouse, a dark ride through the fires of Hell, and a one-of-a-kind custom Virginia reel, among other tantalizing thrills. Just beyond the park’s border walls are a boat rental, a garden showcasing the cultures and cuisines of the city’s East Asian immigrants, and a funicular railway connecting the waterfront to the street above.
