Mini Dark Ride Contest
It is time for another mini contest! In this mini contest, I want everyone to build a dark ride! A dark ride is a tracked ride that is indoors, and which usually has lots of decorations along the track! Dark rides come in many sizes and shapes: There are dark rides using boats on a water track, there are suspended dark rides, and there are dark rides which follow a rail. Many parks have interesting dark rides, and lots of techniques are constantly being developed to make these rides even more interesting. Something which you can see a lot lately are interactive dark rides, where guests can interact with the surroundings by for example shooting targets with a laser gun, or by pressing buttons in front of their seats. In OpenRCT2, the addition of the cut-away view allows you to look inside buildings, so you no longer have an excuse not to decorate your dark rides on the inside! You can also simply make a cutout in the roof, to allow people to see inside without using the cutaway view!
Rule 1: You have to build a dark ride! For this contest, a dark ride is considered a tracked ride which is fully indoors, where the riders pass along different scenes. You are allowed to use rollercoaster vehicles to make the dark ride, the spinning wild mouse vehicles could for example actually work very nicely here, but the ride itself must not look like a rollercoaster. You are not supposed to make an indoor rollercoaster in this round, we'll save that for a later round!
Rule 2: You must decorate the inside of the building. While the entire ride must be indoors, you are allowed to make cutouts in the roof to allow people to look inside. If you don't make any cutouts, it might be a good idea to indicate to people they should use the cutaway view!
Rule 3: For this round, the maximum map size is 25 x 25 tiles!
Rule 4: Other than your dark ride, you are allowed to have two other opened rides in the park! You are also allowed to have as many opened shops and stalls as you want. All other rides should be closed or in test mode.
Rule 5: For this contest, you are not allowed to use custom scenery or rides in your park! You are allowed to use a custom palette if you want.
Rule 6: The deadline for this contest will be Friday the 4th of June, at 19:00 CEST!
