Switchback Coaster Contest

This month, I want everyone to build a switchback coaster! For the people who are wondering what I consider a switchback coaster? It is a full circuit coaster which rolls back at some point of the track, and does part of the circuit backwards! I do not want you to make a shuttle type of coaster like a shuttle loop or a boomerang, I want to see the coaster follow at least somewhat of a different track when going backwards! I have made a tutorial on how to make a switchback coaster which you should probably check out before joining the contest!

  • Rule 1: You have to make a coaster which at some point in the track rolls back, and does part of the track in the reverse direction! At a later point in the track, it should reverse again in the forwards direction! You are allowed to have more reversing sections if you want!

  • Rule 2: The coaster should have a split somewhere in the track. You are not allowed to let the coaster follow exactly the same track in both forwards and backwards direction as they would in a shuttle loop or boomerang design. The coaster should enter and exit the station in the forwards direction, like a full circuit coaster would!

  • Rule 3: The deadline for this contest will be on Saturday the 26th of September, at 8 in the evening, Central European Summer Time!

  • Rule 4: You are not allowed to use custom scenery, rides or vehicles for this round. You ARE allowed to use a custom palette if you want!

  • Rule 5: The maximum map size for this round will be 40x40 tiles!

  • Rule 6: There are no limits to the amount of other rides you can place in your entry!

  • Rule 7: Have fun!
