Changing Text Colours

Updated: Dec 29, 2024

Difficulty level: Beginner

Hey everyone! In OpenRCT2 it is possible to use formatting codes to change the colour of a text. You could for example use this to recolour the name of a ride, the name of a guest or staff member, or the name of your park. These colour codes can also be used in the name or description of a multiplayer server.

There are several colours you can use for this, which I will list below. To recolour a text, simply type the name of the colour you would like in capital letters in between curly brackets, for example {GREEN}. All the text after this will then be coloured green.

You can use the following colour codes:

BLACK, GREY, WHITE, RED, GREEN, YELLOW, TOPAZ, CELADON, BABYBLUE, PALELAVENDER, PALEGOLD, LIGHTPINK, PEARLAQUA, PALESILVER

There are also several formatting codes you can use. If you put SMALLFONT between curly brackets the text after it will be smaller. If you use TINYFONT the text will get even smaller. You can use MEDIUMFONT to reset the text back to normal.

In the video below I show you an example of how to apply these colour codes to text:
