Difficulty level: Beginner
Hey everyone! In most DKMP contests you are allowed to use custom objects from the DKSO workbench. These are versions of the base game objects that are recolourable. However, having custom objects enabled in your park makes the file size bigger. That's why you're asked to disable all the custom objects you did not use when handing in your contest entry!
To view which custom objects are enabled in your map, you will first have to enable the cheat menu. You can do this under Options, under the cogwheel tab:
Then in the Cheat Menu you will find the object selection. This is the screen you might recognize from the scenario editor. This is the window where you normally select the objects people are allowed to use in the scenario.
In the object selection window, make sure to set the filters to Custom and Selected Only. This will only show you the custom objects that are enabled in the scenario. All the objects with a grey checkmark have been placed in the scenario. All the objects with a white checkmark have not been placed and should be disabled before sending in the save file for a contest. Also, be sure to go through the tabs for other kinds of scenery like large scenery and walls, and make sure to deselect unused custom objects there as well.
Instead of deselecting all custom objects one by one, there is also a fast way of deselecting all unused objects. This will also disable all non-custom objects you haven't placed in the map. For this, first make sure Debugging Tools are enabled in the options. This can be found under the Wrench tab in the Options menu.
When this is done, go to the Cogwheel menu at the top of your screen. In this menu, you will find an option to show the in-game console.
This should bring up a window where you can type commands. In this window, type remove_unused_objects and press enter. If you did it correctly, it will show you how many objects have been disabled.
To close the console, type close and press enter. Alternatively, you can use the console hotkey, which is usually the key above your Tab key. Your save file should now be ready to be submitted!
